Hot pink shabby chic

YEAH! again, tonight @ 11PM I finished shabby chic II.  The hot pink quilt.  Love, love, love that design, easy and yet sooooooooo  pretty.  Well here are the photos, they were taken at night so the color quality isn't the greatest.  Will retake photos tomorrow.  Just couldn't wait to post!

Shabby Chic!

YEAH! Completed this morning!  Border consists of strips of the fabrics used for the fans. Second quilt just like this one in the works but in brighter, hot colors

Thomas the Train

Ideas keep running through my head, like a train..  I think I am going to strip quilt the design by cutting out the trains and having them run across the quilt.  It would be great if I could find some fabric with coal on it, mmmmmmmmmmm.  The search is on

Paddington Bear

I finished this delightful quilt this morning. I couldn't wait to get it posted. I am really excited, although the concept for the design was inspired by a quilt I saw in a magazine, the actual design is my own! I so love that! I only had an 1/8 of a yard of Paddington Bear fabric, bear block is only 4 1/2 inches square. Soooooo.......

I had to come up with a block that would make the most of the fabric, enhance the bear, and enlarge the total block size. It was so much fun rummaging through my stash for complementary fabrics. My next project will be working with a small piece of Thomas the train. Wish me luck!

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blogger page.. Follow me along as I blog about my quilting! This is a recent quilt I created for as shower gift.  My childhood friend Mary has 4 children, 3 are married.  The most recently married son is having his first child.  The babies room is an animal theme.  (she loves monkeys, he loves giraffes) They have chosen to be surprised by the sex of the baby, so no pink or blue. I was fortunate to find this wonderful fabric for the quilt. It was such fun to make and I hope they enjoy it as much as I had making it.
